The World Health Organisation, Regional Office for Africa in Brazzaville, Congo, says there are now over 2,500,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases on the African continent.
The health agency gave the update on the WHO African Region COVID-19 Dashboard on Thursday.
WHO in the update also disclosed that there are now more than 2.1 million recoveries from COVID-19 and 60,783 deaths cumulatively.
The health agency stated that there are now 2,566,625 confirmed COVID-19 cases on the African continent.
According to the dashboard, South Africa reported 954,258 cases and 25,667 deaths; Algeria had 96,549 cases and 2696 deaths while Kenya reported 94,768 cases and 1,647 deaths.
Nigeria, according to the WHO dashboard, reported 80,922 cases and 1,236 deaths from COVID-19.
